According to AS journalist Pablo Montaño, Pep Guardiola is keen on signing Real Madrid forward Rodrygo, with the Spanish club valuing the player between €90 million and €100 million.
Following Real Madrid’s 1-2 home defeat to Manchester City in the Champions League, in which Rodrygo ended his scoring drought, Guardiola publicly praised the Brazilian. The coach remarked, “I told him, ‘How good you are.’ He is a player of another dimension... That kid belongs to a higher level. It’s great to see him back from injury; he is very, very good.”
There appears to be an enduring link between Rodrygo and Manchester City, a fact Guardiola is well aware of. Rumours regarding a potential move for Rodrygo to City are not new, and are expected to continue. Rodrygo stated in an October interview that he would only leave Real Madrid if the club asked him to find a new team.
AS suggests that despite the player’s commitment, Manchester City represents a significant "but." With Rodrygo contracted until 2028, Real Madrid has set a high asking price of €90 million to €100 million for the forward. Guardiola, whose contract with City runs until 2027, would undoubtedly be delighted to bring Rodrygo into his squad.
