FC Porto officially announced the signing of 41-year-old veteran defender Thiago Silva this Saturday, marking a sentimental return to the club where he played during the 2004-05 season. Following the announcement, the Brazilian center-back shared his excitement about rejoining the Portuguese giants and beginning this new chapter in his illustrious career.

Reflecting on the move, Silva emphasized his deep motivation to contribute to the team’s success. "I am announcing my return to Porto and want to express how happy I am to have this opportunity," he stated. "I am full of motivation because I hope to help in the best way possible." The veteran’s experience is expected to provide a significant leadership boost to the squad as they compete on multiple fronts.

Silva also took the opportunity to show appreciation for the leadership that facilitated his return. He extended his thanks to Porto President André Villas-Boas and head coach Francesco Farioli for their trust. Looking ahead, he expressed his eagerness to reunite with the club's supporters, noting that he "can't wait to be close to the fans again" and hopes to bring "glory and joy" to the club during his second stint at the Estádio do Dragão.
