TalkSPORT: Fenerbahçe Targets Nkunku; Frenchman Prefers AC Milan Stay

    0 1

According to a report from talkSPORT, Turkish giants Fenerbahçe have expressed interest in signing French forward Christopher Nkunku during the current January transfer window. However, the 28-year-old has reportedly signaled his desire to remain at AC Milan, despite a challenging first half of the season in Italy.

Nkunku only recently joined the Rossoneri, completing a £36 million move from Chelsea last summer. Since arriving at the San Siro, he has made 15 appearances, contributing 3 goals and 2 assists. While his output has been steady, he has struggled to cement himself as an undisputed starter in the lineup.

Nkunku is currently under contract with AC Milan until 2030, which provides him with significant long-term security. Nevertheless, his stance on staying could be tested by the club’s recent movements in the transfer market. AC Milan has reportedly reached a principle agreement to loan German striker Niclas Füllkrug from West Ham United. The arrival of Füllkrug is expected to increase competition for attacking spots, potentially further reducing Nkunku's playing time. If the Frenchman finds his minutes severely restricted in the coming weeks, he may reconsider the move to Istanbul before the winter window closes.
