According to Brazilian media Globo Esporte, Monaco right-back Vanderson underwent thigh surgery on Monday. As he is expected to be sidelined for up to three months, he will miss the upcoming World Cup.

In last week’s league match against Paris Saint-Germain, Vanderson was forced off after only around 15 minutes due to a left thigh injury.

It is worth noting that Vanderson had been called up multiple times during the World Cup qualifiers and has already made seven appearances for the Brazil national team.
