Ronaldo Set to Miss Portugal Duty Through Injury as Félix Secures Call-Up

Ronaldo Set to Miss Portugal Duty Through Injury as Félix Secures Call-Up

According to Portuguese outlet A Bola, with the Saudi Pro League suspended until early April, Al Nassr’s two Portuguese stars Cristiano Ronaldo and João Félix have both returned to their homeland. However, their situations are in stark contrast: Ronaldo is likely to miss out on the national team due to injury, while Félix has already secured his place in the squad.

Reports indicate that Ronaldo’s private jet landed in Lisbon last Sunday. He had previously suffered a right thigh muscle injury during the match against Al Feiha and later traveled to Madrid for rehabilitation. Although his return to Portugal is believed to be aimed at continuing his recovery more effectively, the 41-year-old veteran is highly likely to miss Portugal’s upcoming friendlies against Mexico and the United States at the end of the month, as he has not yet fully recovered. At present, his sole focus remains on regaining fitness.

In contrast, Félix has a much tighter schedule. After helping the team secure a 5-0 victory over Al Khaleej and strengthen their position at the top of the table, he returned to Portugal alongside head coach Jorge Jesus. While he is taking advantage of the league break for a brief rest, his “holiday” will be short-lived. Thanks to producing the best form of his career at Al Nassr, Félix is almost certain to be called up by head coach Roberto Martínez for Portugal’s international fixtures at the end of the month.
