According to Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, former Enzo Maresca met with senior officials from Napoli in London a few days ago to discuss a potential collaboration.
Reports suggest that Maresca is currently open to taking charge of Napoli, but the final outcome will largely depend on developments between now and June—particularly the future of current head coach Antonio Conte. Conte has yet to receive a new contract offer from Napoli and remains uncertain about a possible return to the Italy national team.
It is understood that Conte will meet with club president Aurelio De Laurentiis at the end of the season, where he is expected to demand significant investment in order to compete for the Serie A title again. However, it remains unclear whether De Laurentiis is willing to commit such funds. Many believe Napoli are considering a return to their previous model by appointing a coach capable of developing young players rather than focusing solely on managing established stars.
In addition, despite their long-standing interest in Maresca, Manchester City have not intervened in this latest meeting between the coach and Napoli officials.
