FC Barcelona defeated Real Madrid CF 2-0 at home in this round’s El Clásico, officially securing the La Liga title ahead of schedule. Marcus Rashford and Ferran Torres both scored in the first half, helping Barcelona draw level with Real Madrid in the all-time El Clásico win count on their title-clinching night.

With this victory, Barcelona increased their total El Clásico wins against Real Madrid to 106, matching their rivals’ tally. After 114 years of meetings between the two giants, the overall head-to-head record is level once again, with both teams recording 106 wins each, alongside 52 draws.

At the same time, this became only the second occasion in La Liga history that a team officially clinched the league title following a match against Real Madrid. The previous instance came in 1977, when Atlético Madrid secured their eighth La Liga title after drawing away to Real Madrid.
