According to Korean media reports, an official from the Korea Football Association has confirmed that defender Cho Yu-min, who suffered an injury in the match against Trinidad and Tobago, will miss the World Cup. He will be replaced in the squad by Jo Wae-je.

According to the KFA official, "Cho Yu-min (reportedly diagnosed with a plantar fascia tear) has been advised that his recovery will take approximately eight weeks. We believe it will be difficult for him to participate in the World Cup. After arranging his flight home, Cho will immediately leave the national team camp and return to South Korea to focus on treatment and rehabilitation."

Meanwhile, training squad member Jo Wae-je has been called up to replace Cho in South Korea's World Cup roster.
