Indonesia's national team is continuing its preparations for the 2026 AFF Cup with a training camp at the Bali United Training Center, where the squad has been working under head coach John Herdman since early July. The camp is focused on improving fitness, tactical understanding, and team chemistry ahead of the regional tournament, with players undergoing intensive daily training sessions.

Despite the ongoing preparations, Indonesia has yet to schedule a friendly match before the competition. The coaching staff has instead relied on internal practice games to evaluate player performances and monitor the squad's progress. Arranging external opponents has proven difficult, largely because most Indonesian clubs are still occupied with their preseason programs.

The training camp in Bali is set to conclude on July 25, after which the squad will return to Jakarta to finalize preparations for their opening AFF Cup fixture. The coaching staff is expected to use the remaining time to refine tactical plans and determine the strongest lineup before the tournament begins.

Indonesia will also have to cope without several key players based overseas. Since the 2026 AFF Cup is not part of the official FIFA international calendar, clubs are not required to release their players for national team duty. As a result, the Garuda squad is expected to rely heavily on domestic league talent as they aim to compete for regional success.
