Valencia has had a tough start to the new season. In the six league games, they've managed just one win, one draw, and four losses, accumulating only four points and sitting in 19th place in the standings, firmly in the relegation zone. Their home form has been particularly disappointing. In three home games, they've yet to secure a victory, with one draw and two defeats. Picking up points at home has been a real challenge. Strangely enough, they've fared better on the road, where they've notched up a win. Looking at their recent form, the past six matches show the same dismal record of one win, one draw, and four losses, indicating a very poor overall state. Offensively, they've been abysmal, scoring only two goals this season. The finishing touch in the final third is clearly lacking, and the attacking players are struggling to find the back of the net. Defensively, they're equally vulnerable, having conceded 10 goals already, which points to a leaky backline. Currently, Valencia's p

    • Manchester City will aim to maintain their perfect Premier League start when they host Sunderland at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The Citizens have won their opening four league matches and arrive with six consecutive victories across all competitions, scoring 15 goals while keeping clean sheets in their last four games. Their momentum was strengthened by a 5-0 EFL Cup victory over Norwich City, where 17-year-old academy graduate Floyd Samba scored twice on his full debut. City have also lost only twice in their last 30 Premier League matches and remain unbeaten in all 14 previous home league meetings with Sunderland, recording 12 wins and two draws. Sunderland head into the fixture with four points from their opening four Premier League matches, including one victory, one draw and two defeats. The Black Cats did, however, enjoy a memorable European night in midweek by beating AZ Alkmaar 1-0 in their first Europa League match, with Enzo Le Fee converting a second-half penalt

    • Marseille will host Paris Saint-Germain at the Stade Velodrome on Sunday evening in the first Le Classique of the 2026-27 Ligue 1 season, with both sides entering the encounter after contrasting recent results. Marseille have suffered three consecutive league defeats against Monaco, Paris FC and Rennes after opening the campaign with a 4-0 win over Strasbourg, leaving Bruno Genesio’s side 13th in the standings. Their difficult run continued in Europe, where they were beaten 4-1 by Besiktas, extending a worrying defensive spell in which they have conceded 10 goals across their last four matches. PSG have also experienced an uncharacteristically slow beginning to their title defence despite winning the Ligue 1 and Champions League double last season. Luis Enrique’s side collected only two points from their previous three league matches before finally returning to winning ways with a 1-0 victory over Brest, while a dominant 6-1 Champions League win over Slovan Bratislava has provided

    • Athletic Bilbao will look to maintain their recent momentum when they travel to face Levante in La Liga on Wednesday. The visitors currently sit ninth with seven points from five matches, while Levante are 13th on five points. Levante have collected one win, two draws and two defeats so far, recovering from an opening 3-0 loss to Espanyol with a victory over Real Betis and draws against Osasuna and Malaga. Their progress was halted by a 4-2 defeat to Barcelona in their latest outing, leaving them eager to respond against an Athletic side they have struggled to overcome in recent years. The historical record strongly favors Athletic, who have won eight and drawn three of their last 11 meetings with Levante. The Lions also claimed a 4-2 victory when the teams last met in February, while Levante have not beaten Athletic since a 3-0 success in December 2018. Athletic themselves have recovered impressively after starting the season with defeats against Sevilla and Barcelona, following those
