Qatar’s Al Mirqab with Potential Inter Milan Investment as Oaktree Attracts Interest

Qatar’s Al Mirqab with Potential Inter Milan Investment as Oaktree Attracts Interest

    0 0

Inter Milan could attract fresh investment from Qatar, with Al Mirqab reportedly emerging as a potential investor interested in the Italian club through its current owner, Oaktree Capital. According to Corriere della Sera, the Doha-based family office has been lined to preliminary discussions, following an earlier report by Il Messaggero. However, the situation remains at an early stage, with no confirmed agreement or formal negotiations announced.

Al Mirqab manages the wealth of Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani, Qatar’s former prime minister and a cousin of the country’s current emir. The prominent businessman has established a growing presence in the Italian property market, with recent investments adding to speculation about his potential interest in Inter. Reports suggest that initial communication with Oaktree has been informal, meaning the possibility of a deal remains uncertain.

The reported interest comes as Inter continue to strengthen their financial position. The club recorded revenue of €518 million for the 2025–26 season and posted a profit of €22.7 million, marking its second consecutive profitable campaign. These figures highlight the club’s improving financial stability and could make it an attractive opportunity for investors seeking a foothold in European football.

Inter’s market value also varies depending on the assessment. Forbes estimates the club to be worth approximately €1.5 billion, including debt, while Football Benchmark places its valuation at around €2.1 billion. Corriere della Sera reports that Oaktree may value Inter even more highly. These differing estimates underline the financial scale of any potential investment, particularly if discussions eventually move beyond an initial minority stake.

The club’s proposed new stadium is another factor that could attract potential investors. Several parties have reportedly approached Oaktree in recent months with an interest in acquiring minority stakes, while Tuttosport describes the latest developments as exploratory rather than a confirmed transaction. With neither Inter nor Oaktree issuing an official confirmation of Al Mirqab’s involvement, the possibility of Qatari investment remains speculative, although further developments could shape the club’s ownership and long-term ambitions.
