Real Madrid Real Madrid are hoping to win again after their last result, the 4-1 La Liga success vs Sevilla. Matches featuring Real Madrid have usually been absorbing encounters of late with a lot of goalmouth action anticipated. Over their past half dozen clashes alone, a total of 23 goals have gone in for both teams combined (at an average of 3.83 goals per game) with 15 of them being chalked up by Real Madrid. That trend might not be carried forward into this game, though. RB Leipzig After being beaten in their last game against Bayern Munich in Bundesliga action, RB Leipzig will be hoping to turn things around here. Showing their penchant for action-packed matches, the back of the net has been hit 26 times in the previous 6 matches in which RB Leipzig have taken to the pitch, giving a mean average of 4.33 goals each fixture. Opposing teams have hit 12 of these goals.

From what I’ve observed of Real Madrid’s recent Champions League displays, the side has hit the ground running this campaign, claiming back-to-back wins over Inter Milan and AS Roma in the first two group fixtures to sit top of the group table with full points. Backed by home advantage at the Santiago Bernabéu, their attacking output has been extremely threatening. Mbappé is in red-hot form with elite finishing efficiency inside the box, Bellingham takes charge of midfield playmaking and intelligent late runs into the final third, while Vinicius Junior’s explosive wide dribbles keep stretching the opposition’s defensive structure nonstop. The team does carry notable injury risks, though. Rodrygo, Ferland Mendy and Raul Asensio are all sidelined at present, which cuts down their wide rotation options and weakens the depth of their left flank defense. Their backline tends to expose gaps under high-intensity challenges. Real Madrid’s usual game plan is to hold firm possession

Real Madrid’s current setup deploys Bellingham as the central playmaker, with Mbappé leading the attacking line, Vinícius Júnior tasked with taking on opposition full-backs one-on-one down the left flank, and Valverde covering both attacking and defensive duties on the right. Their attacking system relies on continuous horizontal ball movement to stretch Leipzig’s defensive shape, with runs through the half-spaces creating openings for through passes and long-range efforts, while set pieces also serve as a key scoring avenue. The biggest flaw in this system lies in the personnel shortage on their left flank. Once the left full-backs push high up the pitch, they leave huge exposed space behind them. If a pass is intercepted, Openda’s explosive pace will directly threaten Real Madrid’s center backs. When the side fails to break the deadlock after long periods of sustained possession, the whole squad tends to get impatient, and their overly high defensive line will leave them f
