Brentford have reportedly set a hefty asking price for Igor Thiago amid growing interest from Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and several European clubs ahead of the January transfer window. The Brazilian striker has attracted attention with his physical presence, finishing ability and impressive performances, making him an increasingly valuable asset for the Premier League side.
According to reports from 4-4-2, Atletico Madrid are among the clubs monitoring the 25-year-old, alongside several Premier League rivals. Thiago has established himself as an important figure at Brentford, with his strength and ability to lead the line making him an appealing option for clubs looking to improve their attacking options in the coming months.
Tottenham could benefit from adding another reliable centre-forward to their squad. Thiago’s ability to hold up the ball, win aerial duels and create opportunities inside the penalty area would give Spurs another attacking dimension. Aston Villa are also keeping tabs on the Brazilian as Unai Emery assesses potential reinforcements to strengthen his forward line.
Atletico Madrid are reportedly keen on the possibility of pairing Thiago with Julian Alvarez. Diego Simeone is believed to view the Brentford striker’s physical attributes as a useful complement to the Argentine’s movement and creativity in the final third. Competition from multiple clubs could make the race for his signature increasingly challenging as the winter window approaches.
However, Brentford are in a strong position to resist interest in their prized forward. Reports suggest the club rejected a €70 million offer from Nottingham Forest during the previous transfer window and would demand between €80 million and €90 million before considering negotiations. With Thiago under contract until June 2031, Brentford have little pressure to sell, while their reluctance to weaken the squad midway through the season could make a January move particularly difficult.
