Arsenal are reportedly stepping up their efforts to sign RB Leipzig winger Antonio Nusa ahead of the January transfer window. The Norwegian international has emerged as one of the club's main attacking targets, with the Gunners keen to bring his pace, creativity and goalscoring ability to the Premier League. According to Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, Arsenal are optimistic about reaching an agreement despite the financial challenges involved.
However, negotiations between the two clubs have proved difficult due to a significant disagreement over the player's valuation. RB Leipzig reportedly value Nusa at around €70 million and have no intention of lowering their demands. Arsenal, meanwhile, are initially prepared to offer approximately €55 million, leaving a €15 million gap between the two sides.
Despite the difference in their valuations, Arsenal remain determined to keep the negotiations alive. There are indications that the Premier League side could increase their offer as discussions progress in an attempt to meet Leipzig's expectations. The German club, however, are in a strong financial position and have little reason to accept a reduced fee after completing major business in the previous transfer window.
Nusa's impressive performances have played a major role in his growing market value. Since joining Leipzig, the 21-year-old has recorded 14 goals and 17 assists, underlining his development into an exciting attacking talent. He has also made a strong start to the current campaign, contributing four goals and six assists in 12 appearances across all competitions.
Arsenal believe Nusa's versatility and attacking quality could provide a significant boost to their forward line. Nevertheless, securing his signature midway through the season will depend on whether both clubs can agree on a suitable transfer fee. The Gunners may also face competition from AS Roma, who previously showed interest in the winger, while Tottenham Hotspur have also been mentioned as potential suitors.
